?Northwest starts off season with big win

Lutheran High Northwest started the 2016 season Friday night at home defeating Detroit Public Safety Academy 41-14. The Crusaders amassed 265 yards 42 carries and threw for 72 yards completing only 6 out of 16 attempts. Junior Zack Alkire led the attack with 103 yards on 10 carries, one reception for 15 yards, and threw 3 completions on 8 attempts for 37 yards. Zack also had 10 total tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, and recovered 1 fumble.Junior Danny Macks crossed the goal line 3 times for the Crusaders carrying the ball 17 times for 65 yards and a reception for 10 yards. Danny led the defense from his inside line backer position and had 10 tackles on the night. Senior Michael Justice had 10 carries for 66 yards threw 3 completions on 8 attempts for 35 yards, one reception for 23 yards, and had one touchdown on the evening. Michael also had 3 tackles on the evening 2 of them for a loss.  Max Preps Congratulated #4 Daniel Macks (overall), #67 Evan Bowlds (offensive), #15 Zack Alkire (defensive) and #12 Mike Justice (special teams) for being selected the Lutheran Northwest Football Players of the Game. Next Thursday night Lutheran Northwest will host former Metro Conference foe Hamtramck, game time 7pm.
