Lutheran Northwest defeates Lutheran Westland bringing Rusty back home!
Lutheran Northwest struggled to begin the game giving up several large pass plays to the Warriors, but were able to regroup at half time and bring home the win. At the end of one quarter of play, the Crusaders were down 8-0, and with an amazing catch by the Warriors in the last seconds of the first half were own 16-14. The Crusaders came together though in the second half limiting the Warriors to ony 6 points and scoring 29. Junior Zack Alkire was 14 of 20 through the air for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns, and carried the ball for the Crusaders for 160 yards on 24 carries crossing the goal line twice. Zack was also active on defense registering 8 tackles and 2 sacks. The team was led by Junior Danny Macks and Senior Michale Justice who had 14 tackles each. Five different receivers had receptions against the Warriors, led by Freshman Jake Justice who had 5 receptions for 83 yards and one touchdown. Max Preps Congratulated #15 Zack Alkire (overall), #4 Daniel Macks (offensive), #12 Mike Justice (defensive) and #58 Kaden Mcclain (special teams) for being selected the Lutheran Northwest Football Players of the Game. Lutheran Northwest will look to get past the .500 mark next Friday night at home as they take on the Lancers of Oakland Christian for Homecoming.
