Lutheran Northwest had their hands full Saturday afternoon with a much improved Oakland Christian team. Both the Crusaders and the Lancers were playing to keep their play-off hopes alive. Northwest carried a 12-7 lead into half. At the start of the 2nd half, the Lancers drove down tot he Northwest 1 yard line where the Crusaders held the Lancers to a field goal. The Crusader rushing attack proved to be to much for the Lancers as the Crusaders gained 371 yards on the ground, 203 of those yards were gained by Junior Zack Alkire followed closely by Junior Danny Macks who rushed for 117 yards. The passing attack wasn't what we had seen in previous contests, but it was proficient. The Crusaders completed 6 of 10 passes for 66 yards. Junior Danny Macks once again led the defense with 10 tackles. The MIAC recognized the all-league players. The Crusaders had 5 players selected to all-league teams. Second team recognition went to Senior Evan Bowlds and Junior Paul Rosa, and Junior Danny Macks, Junior Zack Alkire, and Senior Michael Justice were all recognized by the coaches as First Team All League Players. Max Preps congratulated  #15 Zack Alkire (overall), #12 Mike Justice(offensive), #4 Daniel Macks (defensive) and #30 Alex Gutierrez (special teams) for being selected the Lutheran Northwest Football Players of the Game. Next Friday night the Crusaders play their last regular season home game against Star International Academy hoping to get their sixth win and make the play-offs.
